Maurice Linnens, President, Kansas Truck Equipment Co., said, "We have an established relationship with many Kansas chills. Our company's reputation of providing Kansas children with the safest form of travel to and from school is the result of Blue Bird's commitment to safety through top research and design programs. This service award is a tribute to our staff as well as our relationship with Blue Bird. Two of our employees have been with our company for over 40 years - Richard "Zack" Zackula, general manager, and Dick Perry, bus sales. Several other key employees have been with Kansas Truck Equipment Company for at least 20 years. Every day we strive to give our customers quality service. That's what distinguishes our company."
Founded in 1958 by Bob Friedman and Bob Gelman, Kansas Truck Equipment Co. started as a truck equipment distributor and then expanded into personal mobility products and shuttle buses. In 1999, Kansas Truck Equipment Company was purchased from Friedman and Gelman by Maurice R. Linnens and two local investors.
Under Linnens' leadership, the company has broadened its product mobility line, added the Marque ambulance, continued to represent El Dorado National shuttle buses and Amerivan wheelchair accessible minivans, and expanded truck equipment to serve municipalities, building contractors, landscapers, trucking companies as well as the agricultural market.
