Deferred Bus Payment Plan Announced

Blue Bird Vision Conventional School Bus Diesel or Propane

Legislative cost cutting and state budget shortfalls have left district school budgets strained to the max, especially transportation. Kansas Truck Equipment Co., Inc. now has a new Deferred Payment Program.  Kansas Truck Equipment Co., Inc., now has a new Deferred Payment Program. This program allows a district to take delivery of one of our new 2011 stock buses with 2007 compliant engines and defer the first payment until December 31, 2010. Not only do you save on the lower priced bus, but you also save maintenance costs with Blue Bird’s Extended Warranty, which protects your investment, bumper to bumper, for a full three years. In addition, you can lower your operating costs by replacing older buses in your fleet that are costly to repair and less efficient.

This new program applies only to 2011 Blue Bird Vision stock untis (65-71 passenger floor plans available). The NEW Kansas Truck Equipment Co., Deferred Payment Program combined with Blue Bird’s Extended Warranty provides a three-year, bumper-to-bumper factory warranty with NO mileage restrictions and a deferral of the first payment until December 31, 2010.

Kansas Truck bus sales manager, Brian Linnens, said, “Blue Bird’s extended warranty helps school districts avoid costly repairs for an additional two years. Potentially, this can save a district thousands of dollars that they might otherwise spend on parts, labor, and materials.” Linnens said the Deferred Payment Program gives school districts budget flexibility.

Transportation departments are being asked to postpone new bus purchases and make do with the buses they have on hand. Mechanics are being asked to maintain older fleets; this often translates to more money spent on replacement parts and materials - money that could be spent on new buses, and/or saved with an extended warranty offering.

Blue Bird provides a standard 12 month/12,000 mile base warranty.  Below is an example of the potential savings a district could gain using the Blue Bird Extended Warranty plan.
