Mary’s super good Apple Pie

 Apple filling for 9-inch pie
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 t. nutmeg
1 t. cinnamon
Dash salt
6 c. thinly sliced apples – 1/2 pared; 1/2 w/skins

Stir together filling ingredients. Mix with apples. Turn into pastry lined 9-inch pie pan.

Crumb topping:
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter

Mix topping ingredients until crumbly. Do not melt butter.

Spread topping on apple filling.

Bake pie at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Then bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes until golden brown.
